Stress is an awful downward spiral. Stress can have serious effect in many aspects of our lives- from family relationships to fun with friends, and even creating a successful career.
Physical and mental stress very often go hand in hand. When you are mentally stressed, it leads to physical stress. When you are physically stressed, it leads to additional mental stress. A harmful cycle that can be difficult to break especially while in a professional setting like your workplace.
This is not new news, BUT the solution is new: Â JĹŤbuFIT.
Break this harmful cycle in your workplace with movements that you can add into our day to help de-stress and be more productive. Get moving from the one place you HAVE TO be: your job. No matter where your job takes you, no need to change your clothes, and your body and boss will say thank you!

When you get to know me you will learn that I have two full-time jobs. Job number 1, when speaking in terms of age, is my business. My son was born 3 months after my business and that’s when my 2nd full-time job kicked in. My body, mindset, financial stability, and schedule all changed at the same time.
It was a crazy time.
Momnesia kicked in.
It was during my pregnancy that I decided if I wanted to succeed at life, I needed to create some really healthy and time-saving habits. The first major thing I noticed changing- beside my prego body- was my memory. This was especially frustrating because I only had so much time to complete all the necessary paperwork before my son came into the world and my focus would have to switch to him. And I really did have a good memory before all these changes- I had a mental calendar of most outfits I wore going back months (this was before social media).
Momnesia is real, seriously.
When Cosmo asked if I was ever ef...

Summer is in full swing! And that means travel, travel, travel! My latest visit to Good Morning Washington had me talking about ways to protect our bodies while traveling because no one wants to arrive at a fun-in-the-sun holiday needing to slow things down.
I used this segment to show viewers how our bodies should be positioned around the things we travel with to keep our bodies strong and physical fatigue away. Below is a recap of everything I talked about, and I have even shared the link if you want to take a peak!Â
Â
Happy Travels!Â

Proper body alignment while traveling means we are able to move through our lives- and summer holidays- with strong able bodies. Let’s begin this travel posture lesson with the computer bag.Â
These steps can really be used to for any small carry-on type bag:

The official end of Summer brings a renewed sense of job motivation. We are back to packed work schedules and working lunches. That’s why I want to point out this amazing #ladyboss Posture Hero. My hope is that this will inspire you to protect your body by practicing Power Posture!
Â
Let’s begin with a glance at her knees, both feet are planted on the ground. This keeps her body even and her knees at a 90 degree angle. This knee position helps creates a strong lower body posture that helps to fight fatigue.

Â
Now let’s look at the upper body. The spine is upright and shoulders are relaxed – NOT rounding forward. She is using her chin to glance down, not her entire upper body. This will allow her spine to stay in a neutral, S-curve position to minimize pain and muscle fatigue.
Side note: THIS is proper looking down posture. IF you first push your chin forward and then tilt down – I see this all the time- it can cause pain in the neck and shoulder...

Until my time in Japan, I would book the occasional commercial and I was working as an independent contractor in a few different ways: dance teacher, dance technician (teaching dancers how to use their bodies in a healthy way to prevent injury), and Pilates Instructor. More on that later… back to Okinawa.
While on the island I was looking to teach dance and Pilates. Because, let’s face it, as a newlywed in a new country I needed something to do. But the gyms that held fitness classes and spaces that held dance classes told me they were all booked for the term. I would have to sub until someone moved off island or a time slot opened up. So I was back to having all the time in the world.
Fast forward to having lunch with a girl friend. She already owned her own business on the island, let’s call her N. N sat across the table from me...

Stress, no matter the origin, can trigger mental and physical symptoms. At JĹŤbuFIT our specialty is movement.
Movements to make your body stronger.
Movement to and protect your body from negative outside stimuli.
Movement to live a healthy life and age gracefully.
According to Harvard Health Publications: physical and mental stress often go hand in hand. When you are mentally stressed, it leads to physical stress. When you are physically stressed, it leads to additional mental stress. A harmful cycle that can be difficult to break.
The good news is, there are movements we can add into our day to help us de-stress and even be more productive:

Eyes are the windows to your soul, right? So when do tired eye say about you?
More than 86% of the US workforce has a computer-based job. Meaning professionals arrive at work, sit down, and stay almost completely in that position until they go home. There is all this buzz about sitting is the new smoking get some sitting tips here, tech neck, and sleeping butt syndrome, but what about your eyes?! They are doing a lot of them work as well!
The muscles that hold your eyes in their sockets may be small but they work hard too! Mini breaks from your computer screen can make all the difference in your productivity and energy levels. Below you will find some of my 2-minutes-or-less eye exercises designed with your eyes in mind.
