Flipping through racks can take a while. Squeeze your bum and lift your heels every time you flip past another article of clothing, book, or electronic. Search and tone your calves all at the same time.
Â
Hold your great new finds directly out in  front of you; arms stretched long. Lift your knees in a marching motion as high as you can. Repeat until a dressing room opens or your arms feel like they are going to drop everything you are holding.
Â
The dressing room finally opens and you have a ton of things to try on. Give your back a break and your legs a good stretch: touch your toes before and after trying on each great holiday find.

Breathing focuses our mind and steadies our body.
This month learn about how your lung support you in your day-to-day activities.
Learn about your body.
Protect your body.
You only get one- there are no upgrades or trade-ins.
Â
Lung Capacity
We donât always utilize our entire lung capacity. In fact, when we are in our normal âresting stateâ, some areas of our lungs do not inflate at all. Exercising require more oxygen, so as we breath in our lungs expand to fill up with more fresh air. Exercise gives your body, including your lungs, a workout.
Â
Exhale
In some exercise regiments, we are instructed to âbreathe out all of the airâ from our lungs. It may feel as though you have achieved this but, luckily, this is physically impossible. There is always residual volume left in your lungs. If our lungs were able to be evacuated of all air, then they would collapse on themselves and prohibit air flow from ever occurring again!

The thankful journey began whenâŚ
I finished undergrad in Los Angeles at UCLA. All I wanted to do was dance. Nothing else mattered, but I did not feel Los Angeles was my permanent home. I began to feel New York Cityâs pull, and 6 months after my graduation, I moved back to the great city to find my place in the NYC dance scene. Not long after my move I broke my foot. Pilates then became my main source of income- not just something I did on weekends. Itâs kind of silly to say but I am thankful for that accident.

*I am thankful I took the time, while my body was healing, to work on my FIT-self and dive deeper into the workings of amazingness that is the human body.
*I am also thankful that I met my husband at this point. He loves adventure as much as I do and the U...

We eat.
We Digest and process food through different organs.
OH! Our amazing bodies!
Learn about your body. Protect it. Choose your food wisely.
You only get one body. There are no trade-ins.
Â
Your Liver
The liver has many diverse functions within your body, most of which can only be performed by the liver. This organ houses energy stores, detoxifies ingested foods, and filters toxins that find their way into your blood stream. Take good care of this important organ by avoiding excessive amounts of alcohol and acetaminophen.
Â
Your Gallbladder
The gallbladder is the small neighbor to your liver. It helps the liver get rid of old red blood cells, and staying well-hydrated keeps it very happy.
Â
Your Spleen
You can think of the spleen as a large reservoir of red blood cells. Itâs primary job is to survey the bloodstream for old red blood cells and infectious agents.
Â
Your Pancreas
The pancreas may seem insignificant based on relative size, but ...

Â
The Long Tract
The gastrointestinal tract is simply one long tube with specialized âpouchesâ along the way. Food flows through your body in this order: mouth, throat, esophagus, stomach, small intestines, colon. The entire tract is about 30 feet (9 meters) long.
Â
Food Goes Down
The pharynx is a specialized tube that connects your nasal and oral cavities to the esophagus. When we eat and swallow, 2 involuntary, yet important actions take place. First, the uvula blocks the food from flowing upwards into the nasopharynx. Followed by the epiglottis blocking off the trachea to prevent aspiration. So the next time your snort milk from laughing and drinking at the same time, or accidentally allow food to âgo down the wrong pipe,â you know which body...

Morning JĹbu to protect:
My college roommate used to tell me when we walked out of our dorm room each morning, âAlessa, it takes you a few steps to start walking correctly.â I never gave it much thought, but I knew what she was talking about. I needed to remind my body of proper alignment- it took a few steps to do that- and walking gave my body a good, simple wake up workout.
If you think this could be you too. I would suggest doing JĹbuFIT first thing.
Wake up, brush teeth, wash face, JĹbu.
OR,
Get ready for work, drive to work, arrive at personal workspace, JĹbu.
Your body will benefit from starting your day the JĹbuFIT way.

Thanks to a study done by R.D. Michelle Shepherd at the University of Georgia 61 percent of Americans gain weight while on vacation; they refer to this statistic as âcreeping obesityâ. According to the article posted on Menâs Health, there IS a way to stick to your diet while on vacation- follow the 12-step plan. Some of these suggestions, like #1. book a room with a kitchen, is a detail that needs to be planned out months in advance, and is sometimes just not possible. But I really believe the article gets it right in tip #7, wake up and workout. Itâs great if your hotel has a fitness center, but why not try some early morning exploring on foot outside of your hotel? Go for a power walk through your temporary host city and get in a JĹbuFIT #nothoughtlegworkout !! Just remember â especially if you are in a country that doesnât speak your mother tongue- pack the hotelâs business card...
